First Second

Pulse Park, the German-Canadian indie rock trio that formed in the spring of 2020, are gearing up to release their sophomore LP titled "First Second" on April 19, 2024. The band is known for their mix of powerful and tight 90s inspired college-radio indie rock, paired with airy shoegaze elements over which singer Magnusson's melancholic voice floats. After the debut album "Phonac Music" was released in 2022, the first single titled "Briars" from their upcoming album was released on February 9, 2024. The single, and track 3 on the forthcoming LP, gives a preview of their second album with its buzzing guitars, upbeat rhythm, big melody, soothing vocals and melancholy tone, and highlights the elements of the debut even more strongly. This single can be streamed below along with a couple of the other new singles taken from the forthcoming LP. If you're a fan of 90s jangly and melodic guitar-centric indie rock, with fuzzy guitars, varied tempos and pop hooks, you should definitely check this out. The band has been compared to the likes of Nada Surf, Notwist, and Dinosaur Jr. by a number of publications, while also sharing similarities with bands like Ride, Teenage Fanclub, Swervedriver, The Lemonheads, Guided by Voices, and the like.
