There are moments in a band’s career where you need to get on board or be left behind. Moments where a band makes a great leap forward, surges to the next level, and becomes something infinitely greater than they’ve ever been. This is one of those moments for Anberlin, a rock band who has been honing their style and sound since 2002. The band’s last album and major label debut, 2008’s New Surrender, ascended the Central Florida group to a new level of both popularity and skill. The record’s first single “Feel Good Drag” became the No. 1 radio track of 2009 and the No. 30 track of the decade.

Singer Luis Dubuc will take you back to when Motown was ruling the charts and music made you feel real good. Luis recorded this album on the same tape machine that was used in the 1960's by all the majors and Phil Spector. Inspired by The Temptations, Jackson 5, Blood, Sweat and Tears and Tower of Power, Luis took this process very seriously.

Guiltmaker's epic, sincere, and truly sensational technical rock songs on "The Emerald Coast" can easily hold a candle to early Further Seems Forever, Engine Down, and Quicksand. Technically infused, super-charged rock anthems reminiscent of days when music was..well, better.

Indie rock heroes Superchunk will return with their first full length record in 9 years. On Sept 14, 2010 Merge Records will be releasing the blistering melodic pop of Magesty Shredding, and from what we've heard, this album could be a contender for Album of the Year. Please go to their website and pre-order the new LP where you can also stream the new single Digging for Something. I promise you will not be able to get the chorus of this song out of your head for weeks.

Fronted by Seth Alan Roberts (known to avid followers as the former leader and songwriter of Tooth And Nail act Watashi Wa), Lakes were signed to the Militia Group for a single EP release. Seth and company recently finished a full length entitled The Agreement set to be released September 2010.

Pretty much every band in history has had internal conflict, or members leave over some such inter-band strife. Not every band is able to push past that and create some of their most personal and cohesive material to date. Two years after the release of their full length 2008 debut, Colour Revolt –core members Jesse Coppenbarger and Sean Kirkpatrick -- return with their sophomore album "The Cradle."

Young bands struggle – that’s a given. Even young bands dubbed “the voice of a generation” after one album and who land on the some of the world’s biggest festival stages will face some unexpected obstacles. It’s how those bands handle adversity that truly defines their legacy.

Surrender. Those nine letters described a discouraged, burned- out heart as Aaron Newberry gave up his dream of creating music that he could truly and wholeheartedly love. After touring with many successful acts, Newberry found himself looking to piece together a music venture of his own. “I recorded everything on my own. It was just a solo project. I couldn’t find members, and I wasn’t happy with my current writing and circumstances. I just gave up and quit.” However, this breaking point was just what was needed.

Athletics blend of monumental, epic pop, technical prowess, and intense emotional breakdowns is perfect for rainy summer nights.  Their debut full-length, "Why Aren't I Home?" is reminiscent especially of bands like Moving Mountains, The Appleseed Cast, and even more instrumentally charged bands like Hammock, Caspian, and Mogwai.  Certainly an album I won't be forgetting soon.

“Together as Good Old War the trio have mastered the art of three part vocal harmonies and their lively and intricate songs are a throwback to the days when Crosby, Stills, & Nash ruled the Rock world” – Alternative Press
