The Return of Samiam
Gut Reaction: Just got the new Samiam record from my good friends at Hopeless Records and thankfully, this band has found their form again. Unlike Samiam’s last record (which I assumed was a 1 off reunion cd), this upcoming release reminds me of what I loved about them 15 plus years ago. It sounds like1995 all over again! Super melodic, energetic, blistering guitar driven indie rock anthems. The record is varied and really captures the different sounds they created over the span of their career. Jason Beebout’s vocals are back in tact, back up vocals are in full effect, and there are plenty of whoahs and sing along hooks. Songs like Nightly and El Dorado are going to please old fans and help them gain new ones. Thank you to Natalie and Jessie at Hopeless Records for the early privilege of listening to this record. More details to follow. The new Samiam full length “Trips” drops on September 6th via Hopeless Records. Please check out the pre-order here.
